Fun fact: Green was the first woman to make a substantial impact on Wall Street. According to some sources, she was the wealthiest woman in the world in The Gilded Age.

Cornelius Vanderbilt

Fun fact: Vanderbilt was a transport tycoon. Over his lifetime, he was involved with regional steamboats, ocean steam ships, and railroads.

The Mrs. Astor

Fun fact: Caroline Schermerhorn Astor married into the wealth of the Astor family. Dubbed the “The Queen of New York,” this socialite developed a list of 400 well-to-do individuals who became members of her “Fashionable Society” and attended her lavish house parties.
